How Safe is My Hospital?
The use of seclusion and restrictive practices is a widespread systemic issue within Victoria’s Mental Health System. VMIAC is proud to launch its latest Seclusion Report – the third in its series – bringing light to the extent and experiences of those who have been subject to these harmful practices over the 2020 – 2021 period.
We are welcoming all of you, especially our members with a lived experience of seclusion and restraint within Victoria’s In-patient services, to join us 12pm Wednesday the 15th June 2022 at the Science Gallery, Carlton North.
This event will be attended by lived experience consumers, representatives from the Department of Health, Mental Health and Wellbeing sector. We have also extended this invitation to the media, so that this message can be spread to a wider audience, so be prepared for cameras and journalists.
With this report, as with our previous editions, we are fighting for change and to #EndSeclusion.
We have set aside tickets for Lived Experience Consumers in person, Sector Workers in person, and online attendees, please register via whatever category suits you.
For those who cannot attend in person, we will be live streaming the event on the day.
Due to the requirements of the venue, and safety of our attendees, proof of vaccination will be requested on entry.
We apologise for the late notice of this event, but we look forward to seeing all of you there, either in person or online.
