Are you a young consumer of mental health services? Or do you know someone who:
- Used Victoria’s Youth Prevention and Recovery Care (YPARC) residential homes?
- A young consumer (16 to 25) who may not have used YPARC services but are eligible for them
- May have been excluded despite potentially benefiting from YPARC’s

Why?
The Department of Health are running consultation sessions with young mental health consumers. The consultation will be used to develop a Statewide model of care for the YPARCS.
On week of 17th January 2022 there will be five focus groups run. Each will go for two hours.
The Department want to hear from forty young consumers. These are paid opportunities.
VMIAC is working with the Department to prepare these sessions. We will be providing peer support on these days as well to support create a safe environment for people to share.

Victoria’s Youth Prevention and Recovery Care (YPARC) are a mental health service for young people (aged 15 to 26). They are residential homes which provide young people clinical care on a short-to-medium term basis.
The Victorian Government is building new residential facilities in Ballarat, Geelong, Shepparton, Heidelberg and Traralgon. The YPARCS in Bendigo, Dandenong and Frankston completely refurbished and modernized.
