1800RESPECT will continue to operate as per usual during the COVID-19 health emergency. They are open 24 hours to support people impacted by sexual assault, domestic or family violence and abuse.
1800RESPECT is a counselling, information and referral service for all Australians, including:
- People who don’t speak English
- People who find it easier to speak through an interpreter or translator
- People who are blind or vision impaired
- People who are deaf or hearing impaired
- People who don’t speak or have difficulty with speech

If you’re not in immediate danger, Lifeline Australia (13 11 14: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week) or Beyond Blue (1300 224 636) can help you.
Kids Helpline
Kids Helpline is open to answer calls (1800 55 1800 24 hours a day, 7 days a week), emails (counsellor@kidshelpline.com.au 8am-10pm daily) and WebChat (24 hours a day, 7 days a week)
Harmful or life-threatening
If you are in a harmful or life-threatening situation, contact emergency services immediately on Triple Zero (000)

COVID-19 – Illness and General Needs
If you begin to feel unwell and develop a fever or shortness of breath, a cough or respiratory illness, you should call the dedicated hotline on 1800 675 398 for advice. This number is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
