Day 2 of the Disability Royal Commission’s Public Hearing #6

It is day 2 of public hearing 6, where the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability will speak with 7 new witnesses about psychotropic medication, behaviour support and behaviours of concern.

We were disappointed that the breadth of psychosocial disabilities was not represented in yesterday’s hearing, including people living with mental challenges or emotional distress; as well as the limited witnesses with actual lived experience.

We are hoping today will give a greater insight into mental and emotional distress in relation to the topic, as well as more diverse perspectives.

We are unable to live tweet all day, however, we will be sharing updates sporadically. Click here to live stream the hearing form 9.30am.
