VMIAC’s Emerging Leaders program is a residential retreat based program aimed at upskilling the next generation of lived experience leaders to tackle the most pressing issues in the mental health sector.

Based on adaptive leadership and design thinking principles, program participants will gain skills that allow them to navigate the complexities of the mental health lived experience leadership space and engage with established leaders and mentors from across a variety of fields.

Who is it for?

The program is open to emerging leaders, aged 18-25, with a lived experience of mental health, you do not have to have a formal diagnosis or an ongoing condition, you just need to identify as someone who, at some point in their life, has had a mental health experience.

The program will require participants to commit to at least 80 hours of learning (inclusive of 4 x residential retreats) over a 5 month period.
We encourage young people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD and LGBTIQ+ communities to apply.

How much does it cost?

The residential program includes accommodation and meals which will be fully subsidised by VMIAC.
