Get Creative For Community | Mental Health Week 2020

What does community mean to you? Show us through your creativity!

This Mental Health Week (10th-17th October), we want to celebrate consumers and showcase their contributions to all communities. We do not hear enough about how valuable our lived experience can be to others, and how all communities benefit from our contributions, skills and knowledge. So, this October, we will be telling the world just how important consumers are to all communities!

‘Community’ means something different to everyone, whether it’s where you live, a community of interest, or a community of practice.

Whatever community means to you, show us visually with a piece of art, creative writing, photography or even a sculpture! All you need to do is design your creative piece and share a copy with us, along with a brief description of your creative work, ahead of Mental Health Week via the online form below or email to emily.may@vmiac.org.au .

You could showcase how a community of people with lived experience makes you feel, what this community does for you, what you do for this community, or why this community is so important to you; all through the lens of lived experience of mental or emotional distress.

All pieces will be displayed in an online gallery, which will be revealed during Mental Health Week!
