Hi, I have lived experience of the mental health system in Victoria over the years since 1998..I receive emails about opportunities for lived experience input from Ballarat Health Services..I would like to know why BHS refers to it as a lived experience ‘workforce’, when more often than not the opportunities on offer are asking for ‘unpaid volunteer input…I think it’s supremely unfair that people with lived experience are so little valued that they are often not remunerated for their time & expertise…it is very discouraging, especially when contributing in any way for many with lived experience is likely to be quite taxing mentally/emotionally or both
