Based on feedback from our members, we are going to start posting updates from our Policy team. Gabriel, our Policy and Research Lead, has provided this quick update, in collaboration with Xan from our Disability Royal Commission team, on some of the things happening within our Policy department this week.
Update
VMIAC have been working with Villamanta to raise concerns in relation the processes of the Disability Royal Commission.
We are requesting the Commission provide direct and accessible information to consumers, advocates, and organisations that explains how people can safely participate in hearings, such as the proposed guardianship hearing, where there are confidentiality clauses that pose a risk to breaching legislation. It is important that both consumers and organisations are supported, informed, and safe when engaging with the Disability Royal Commission.
