On world Human Rights day we are drawing attention to the the discrimination regularly faced by Mental health consumers.
These experiences not just causes harm, but drastically impact the outcomes for consumers and their wellbeing.
Inequities in social determinants, discrimination in public life, failures to ensure the right to equality before the law and structural discrimination are just some of the ways in which we experience discrimination.
The government must take steps to address the widespread discrimination that is experienced by mental health consumers in order to better address mental health issues.
