NDIS Consultation Papers

VMIAC’s NDIS Critical Reference Group has been busy with a number of consultations papers, and we would like to hear from you. Looking at Home and Living, as well as Support for Decision Making, we want to ensure a diverse array of consumer voices are heard as part of our submissions. Read below to find out more about the papers!

Home and living consultation paper

VMIAC are preparing to submit a consultation paper with guidance from the VMIAV NDIS Critical Reference Group comprised of NDIS participants.

As part of the NDIA’s continued work on its Home and Living Policy, the Agency has released a paper, ‘An Ordinary Life at Home’, to inform the way participants are supported to pursue their home and living goals.

The consultation paper has been developed with support from the NDIA’s Independent Advisory Council (IAC), which continues to represent the participants’ voice in the NDIS.

The Agency will use feedback gathered during the Home and Living consultation period to develop the policy and determine the next steps for implementation.

Consultations opened on 21 June 2021 and will close at 5pm on Friday 27 August.

Support for decision making consultation paper

VMIAC are preparing to submit a consultation paper with guidance from the VMIAV NDIS Critical Reference Group comprised of NDIS participants.

The NIDA recently released a consultation paper on improving decision making support for participants.

The paper, ‘Supporting you to make your own decisions’, and accompanying survey was developed with input from participants, nominees, families and carers through the NDIS Participant Reference Group, as well as a range of stakeholders.

During a 10-week consultation period, the NDIA is seeking feedback from participants and the wider sector on how to ensure participants play a bigger role in determining how they are supported.

Consultations opened on 21 June 2021, and will close at 5pm on Friday 27 August.
