We have written our Policy Position Paper on Gender Discrimination and Inequality, with the purpose to eliminate and prevent discrimination and inequality against consumers on the basis of gender and gender identity. This paper was, unfortunately, necessary due to gender inequality being a driver of mental and emotional distress, the discrimination experienced in psychiatry, and that the medical model fails to address trauma and distress disproportionately experienced by women and gender diverse.
